The Porsche was manufactured between '53 and '55, is most famously associated with actor James Dean, who died in a car accident, while driving one in 1955.
Approximately eighty of the cars were built in the '50's
Peter rebuilt the entire 1600 super Porsche Engine, Porsche brakes and shipped  them to Greg Leach of Vintage Spyder 550 in Orange, California for assembly to the Spyder body.
The interior was customed (my word) by Pete and Dorothy.
After assembly, the Dykema's were required  to fly out for inspection, before it would be shipped to Michigan. They received it in mid-November 2004 just as a snow storm had hit!
Dorothy does wear gloves and has her own set of keys!
